MQM welcomes SC orders for implementing Urdu as the official language

MQM Co-ordination Committee has warmly welcomed the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan for implementing the national language Urdu as the official language. It said that although Urdu was declared the official language of Pakistan after independence, even after 68 years English is used for official business.
The Co-ordination Committee said the unequivocal order of the Supreme Court for implementing Urdu as the official language is heartening. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Jawad S Khawaja and other members of the bench deserve congratulations for passing this order.
The Co-ordination Committee hoped that the federal and provincial governments would follow orders of the Supreme Court and take practical steps to implement Urdu as the official language.
