MQM Legal Aid Committee spokesman condemns arrests of party workers
Karachi: 5th September 2015.
A spokesman of the Legal Aid Committee of MQM has strongly condemned the unwarranted and illegal arrests of MQM workers by Rangers and other government agencies. The spokesman said the unconstitutional and illegal arrests by Rangers and other agencies must stop.
The Spokesman said that Rangers arrested workers of MQM Baldia Town Sector Ramzan and Arif in a pre-dawn raid on their homes. Similarly plain clothes personnel picked up Farzan Zafar, a worker of Maymar Sector, from his home.
The spokesman said that innocent MQM workers were being arrested on the pretext of the ongoing operation in Karachi, and they were brutally tortured in custody.
The spokesman said that the arrest of innocent MQM workers clearly betrays the impartiality of the operation. It has become obvious that the operation is being conducted against MQM, and fundamental human right of millions of people were being deprived by placing an unannounced ban on the political activities of MQM.
The spokesman said that the mandate of the MQM was being trampled in Karachi.
