MQM reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings against media houses for broadcasting incorrect news about ban on Altaf Hussain’s speeches
Karachi: 4 September 2015.
MQM Legal Aid Committee has warned electronic media not to publish or broadcast incorrect news that Lahore High Court has placed a ban on the broadcast of speeches of MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain. The legal aid committee said it reserved the right to initiate legal proceedings against owners, editors, and news directors of media houses if this fabricated news is published or broadcast again.
The Legal Aid Committee said that Lahore High Court has only issued a notice to Advocate General of Punjab to submit para-wise comments before the next hearing. Hence, the news about banning the live broadcast of Mr Hussain are baseless. The honourable court also observed that notices should be issued immediately for starting the hearing of the case.
