Federal Minister for Finance and senior PML (N) leader Ishhaq Dar, JUI (F) Leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah telephoned Dr Farooq Sattar and urged him to review the decision of calling off dialogues on the issue of resignations of MQM members.
Talking to these leaders, Dr Sattar expressed strong reservations on the attitude of the prime minister during his arrival in Karachi.
Mr Dar and Maulana Fazlur Rehman assured Dr Sattar that the government will remove genuine complaints of MQM.
Leader of Opposition Mr Khursheed Shah, who called Dr Sattar twice, also requested to resume the dialogues on the issue of resignations. Dr Sattar complained to him also about the attitude of the prime minister. He also showed his reservations on the position of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah on the issue of formation of a monitoring committee for the Karachi Operation.
Mr Shah supported the MQM’s point of view and added that dialogues should be continued for the sake of the democratic setup in the country. Mr Shah also contacted PM Nawaz Sharif in the meanwhile.
