Only MQM can ensure a revolution of middle class people in Pakistan: Altaf Hussain

Message on the occasion of 18th anniversary of Muttahida Quami Movement
MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain has congratulated party workers and supporters on the 18th anniversary of Muttahida Quami Movement. In a special message on the occasion, Mr Hussain said that the MQM is the only political party that rose from the poor and middle-class segments of the population. It is the only party whose leadership belongs to the middle class and not feudal class.
“Although the MQM started its struggle for getting the rights of Mohajirs and it infused unity among Mohajirs, but when we saw that the middle-class people, farmers and peasants were suffering because of the privileged class, we thought about expanding the MQM to embrace people across Pakistan.”
“It was announced that the Mohajir Quami Movement would be transformed into Muttahida Quami Movement on 14 August 1947. Before it could be done an army operation was started against the MQM on 19 June 1992 to stop it from spreading throughout the country. Thousands of MQM workers were killed during this operation.”
“Despite all injustices and oppression we continued our struggle and changed Mohajir Quami Movement into Muttahida Quami Movement on 26 July 1997.”
“Today MQM supporters and admirers are present in Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Northern Area who are striving to bring a real change in the country by eliminating the feudal system.”
“The MQM is the only guarantee for changing the archaic system prevailing in the country. It is the only party that can ensure a revolution of the middle-class people. An operation has been launched once again to stop the MQM from spreading in the country. Houses of MQM workers are being raided. They are being implicated in concocted cases and killed extrajudicially.”
Mr Hussain said he was confident that the MQM workers and supporters would not lose heart and continue their struggle with unshakeable determination even in the face of poisonous propaganda.
