 Posted on: 7/26/2015
MQM Co-ordination Committee has strongly condemned the illegal raids being conducted on the houses of MQM workers, their relatives and supporters by police, rangers, and plainclothes personnel throughout Karachi. The committee termed it as flagrant state aggression.
In a statement, the Co-ordination Committee said that being an MQM worker and making peaceful political struggle under the leadership of Altaf Hussain have been made crimes.
It said that Rangers was committing atrocities in Karachi and treating it like an occupied territory. Houses of MQM workers and sympathizers are being raided and ransacked, and families have to bear the brunt of their wrath.
The Co-ordination Committee said Rangers raided the house of Muhammad Waqar, Joint Unit In-charge of Unit 33-B of Maymar Sector, the previous day and arrested him.
Rangers raided the houses of Tanvir Ahmed and Imran Ahmed, both workers of Unit 117 of Baldia Sector. They arrested them without any reason and misbehaved with the family and neighbours.
Earlier, a member of Co-ordination Committee Qamar Mansoor was also arrested in an illegal raid at MQM headquarters Nine Zero. He is being subjected to inhuman torture in custody.
The Co-ordination Committee appealed to President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and COAS Gen Raheel Sharif to restrain Rangers from arresting MQM workers and sympathizers without any reason. It also called for releasing all arrested workers.
