MQM terms killing of worker `a conspiracy to vitiate city’s peace’
 Posted on: 7/25/2013
Condemning the brutal murder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s central transport department’s worker Mohammad Ashraf, the Party’s Coordination Committee termed the incident a conspiracy to vitiate the city’s peace.
The MQM worker, Mohammad Ashraf, son of Abdul Rahim, who was critically injured by armed terrorists in Paposh Nagar on Wednesday, succumbed to his injuries in a private hospital on Thursday.
The Muttahida’s Coordination Committee in a statement issued here on Thursday said that anti-peace terrorists under a conspiracy had been targeting MQM workers and sympathizers so as to disturb the city’s law and order situation as well as to destabilize the country.
The Committee said that although dozens of MQM workers and sympathizers had been killed during the current month, none of the perpetrators of such heinous crimes had been arrested which, it added, was a clear proof that the terrorists enjoyed official patronage.
Expressing sympathies with the family members of Mohammad Ashraf, the Committee prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family members to bear this irreparable loss.
The Committee demanded of Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, to immediately arrest the killers of Mohammad Ashraf and give them exemplary punishment.
Earlier, the funeral prayer of Mohammad Ashraf was offered at Orangi Town’s Jamia Masjid Noor-ul-Islam after Asr prayers and he was laid to rest at Paposh Nagar graveyard amidst moving scenes.
A large number of people, including MQM Coordination Committee Member Aslam Afridi, Karachi Tanzeemi Committee’s workers, Haq Parast legislators, concerned Sector and Units’ workers and office-bearers, relatives and friends, attended the funeral and burial ceremonies.
