MQM condemns workers’ arbitrary arrest

The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement strongly condemned the illegal arrests of MQM North Nazimabad Sector In-Charge Imran Rafique and other workers.
In a statement, the Coordination Committee said that Imran Rafique was arrested from his home and transferred to undisclosed location by the Rangers. He said that Burns Road Sector member Muhammad Faisal was also arrested and transferred undisclosed location.
The Committee said that the plain-clothed security personnel kept raiding on MQM’s workers homes to arrest and make them disappeared. MQM Qasba-Aligarh Unit-131 worker Nafees Ahmed, Ranchor Lines Sector Unit-UC-3A workers Raheel and Muslim were also arrested and transferred to undisclosed location.
It also informed that the detainees were neither presented to the court nor their families were informed their whereabouts. It said that for the last two years MQM’s 192 workers were killed but not a single arrest was yet made regarding those murders.
The Coordination Committee demanded to stop arbitrary arrests and raids against MQM’s workers and office-bearers and said to release all the innocent workers, including North Nazimabad Sector In-Charge Imran Rafiqu and others. It also appealed to the human rights organizations to play their role to raise voice against such discrimination.
