MQM condemns arbitrary arrests of workers, supporters

The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement strongly condemned the arbitrary arrests of party workers and supporters in Gharibabad area of Liaquatabad conducted by the police and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs).
In a statement, the Coordination Committee said that despite arresting the murderers of MQM’s Liaquatabad worker Khurram and Orangi Town worker Muhammad Ali, the LEAs arbitrarily arrested number of party workers and supporters throughout the city. It said that on Tuesday morning the police and Rangers personnel seized Liaquatabad area and arrested various workers and supporters, including a 13-year old minor Mohsin and a 70-year old elder Qamaruddin.
The Committee said that in guise of Karachi-operation, MQM was being targeted and tried to be maligned from the political discourse. It demanded to immediately stop arbitrarily arresting of MQM’s workers and supporters  and implicating them in the fake cases.
