MQM requests for separate opposition benches, vows to strengthen democratic process

MQM requests for separate opposition benches, vows to strengthen democratic process
 Posted on: 6/6/2013 1
Parliamentary leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Mr. Farooq Sattar has said that MQM has always preferred a stronger Pakistan and given preference to the system of democracy. And that is the reason that after the results of recent elections in Pakistan (Where PML-N bagged sizable mandate and proposed Mr. Nawaz Sharif as a candidate for Prime Minister), MQM has unconditionally supported Mr. Nawaz Sharif and has once again proved practically that MQM accepts the mandate and wishes for a democratic and a prosperous Pakistan.
Mr. Sattar mentioned that now when the selection process for leader of the house has been completed and like other opposition parties MQM also wants to play the role of an opposition effectively while maintaining its ideological identity in the house, they demand separate opposition benches and that they have responded to a letter received from national assembly’s secretariat in which MQM has requested for separate opposition benches for their leader of the opposition.
