Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Women Wing’s In-charge and members have demanded immediate recovery of the party’s workers who went missing after their arrest by law-enforcement agencies personnel.
In a joint statement issued on Tuesday, the MQM’s Women Wing also urged the authorities to take notice of the protest rallies being staged by the affected families for the recovery of their kith and kin, saying that any further delay in recovering the party workers was causing mental agonies to the affected families.
Condemning the arrest of MQM’s innocent workers, they said that the law-enforcement agencies’ refusal that the workers were not in their custody and subjecting them to severe torture during their official detention amounted to illegal, unconstitutional and undemocratic acts.
The MQM Women Wing office-bearers urged the President Asif Al Zardari, Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to help recover all the missing party workers from the custody of law-enforcement agencies on humanitarian grounds.
