Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain on Friday urged the people, especially youths, to give up the habit of smoking cigarette as millions of people died every year of smoking.
In a message issued on the occasion of World’s anti-Smoking Day, he said that one must be aware of the fact that smoking not only causes mouth and lung cancer among smokers but badly affects the health of passive smokers including their family members.
Highlighting the hazards of smoking, Mr Hussain said that smoking was the cause of maximum number of deaths occurring in the world, each year.
He made a passionate appeal to the people, particularly youths, to shun the habit of smoking and by doing so they could lead a healthy life and extend support to their families.
