MQM asks President and PM to take notice of secret agency’s concocted reports

Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee said here on Thursday that some of the elements belonging to a secret agency had hatched a conspiracy to tarnish the image of MQM in the country and abroad.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, the Coordination Committee said that “we with full responsibility bring it on record that a secret agency under a conspiracy has provided concocted reports to a female anchorperson of a private TV channel that the MQM wanted to harm her.”
Terming such reports as `concocted’ , the Coordination Committee asked that if the secret agency had such information then why it did not expose the elements involved in it and why it was trying to tarnish the image of MQM by providing baseless reports to the woman anchorperson.
The Committee said that baseless allegations including that of Jinnahpur and other and fabricated stories were made to malign the MQM even in the past but the elements leveling such allegations had themselves denied after sometime.
Reiterating that MQM firmly believed in the freedom of the Press and respect for difference of opinion, the Coordination Committee appealed to journalists’ organizations to take notice of such conspiracies so as to foil them with their unity.
The Committee demanded of the President Asif Ali Zardari, caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso and the caretaker Information Minister Arif Nizami to order a probe into what it described as the most serious matter and take action against the elements involved in the heinous conspiracy, besides providing protection to the female anchorperson who was being scared by providing her baseless reports.
