Incidents of sectarian killings are a challenge for the government and law-enforcing agencies

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the killing of a senior lawyer and member of Sindh High Court Bar Association Kausar Saqlain and his two sons in an incident of firing by armed terrorists in Karachi. He said that the incidents of sectarian killings were a challenge for the government, administration and law-enforcing agencies. The brutal killings of Mr Saqlain and his two sons were the outcome of the heinous conspiracy to divide the country, particularly the city of Karachi, on sectarian lines.

Mr Hussain said that the terrorists wanted to engulf the country in the fire of sectarian killings and hence it was necessary for both Shia and Sunni scholars to preach harmony and make practical efforts for promoting brotherhood. He urged them to refrain from making fiery speeches and form committees to keep a vigilant eye on miscreants.

Mr Hussain extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family members of the deceased senior lawyer and prayed Allah to shower His blessings on the departed souls. He also prayed Allah to give courage and strength to the law-enforcing agencies to go after the killers of Mr Saqlain and his sons and bring them to justice.

Mr Hussain also appealed to the people to frustrate the conspiracies to augment sectarian tensions by remaining united.
