Government should provide facilities to workers and increase their wages: Altaf Hussain
Message on International Labour Day
MQM Founder and Leader Altaf Hussain has paid glowing tributes to workers in Pakistan and across the world on the occasion of the International Labour Day.
“Workers are the backbone of progress and development of any country and hence they have a particular importance in all developed countries.”
He said, “Most of the people in Pakistan belong to the working class who work hard day and night for taking Pakistan forward on the path of progress. Unfortunately, no government has taken any step for their welfare or for accepting their legitimate demands. It is because of this apathy that the 98 per cent people in the country are dependent on a handful of privileged class people.”
Mr Hussain said, “The International Labour Day renews the pledge to give rights to the workers and their families, but we have not been able to understand the true spirit of the day.”
“Pakistan is financially unstable. It is the responsibility of the government to provide facilities to the workers and increase their wages so that they may work for the progress of the country efficiently.”
