MQM Chief condemns the murder of Human rights and Social Activist Sabeen Mahmud

MQM Chief, Mr. Altaf Hussain, has condemned the assassination of human rights and social activist Sabeen Mahmud who was killed on 24th April 2015 outside her office in DHA Karachi.
Condemning the murder, Mr. Hussain said, “Sabeen Mahmud was a brave and honest individual who stood up for all those who were oppressed and victimized. Her brutal assassination is meant to induce fear amongst the other enlightened and liberal individuals of Pakistan who refuse to bow down to inhuman and unconstitutional acts. I know it is a huge loss for Pakistan but I request all the people, working for an equal and just society, to remain strong and committed to strengthening the democracy in Pakistan where the rule of law is prevalent and equality is of paramount importance.”
MQM is the fourth largest political party in Pakistan and has had a liberal and progressive stance since its inception. MQM strongly believes in the creation of a just and equal society where everyone is treated fairly irrespective of his religion, cast or gender.
