Address to the provisional Co-ordination Committee, dissolved Co-ordination Committee and office-bearers of various wings of MQM

London: 24th May 2013
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the MQM was not established for spreading the feelings of hatred against any regional nationality. It was established for the rights of the deprived and disadvantaged people of Pakistan. He said this while talking to the members of the provisional Co-ordination Committee, members of the dissolved Co-ordination Committee and office bearers of various wings of the MQM today at Nine Zero in the morning.

Mr Hussain said that the painful linguistic and regional discriminations that he had to face when he took admission in the university were alien to the linguistic and regional affiliations present in Pakistan for many centuries. People who had migrated to Pakistan after the partition of India had hoped that this country would protect them and embrace them but this picture was mutilated as realities were different.

Mr Hussain said that he had started the movement for the rights and identity of the nameless people of who had migrated to Pakistan. The movement was started for the rights of the deprived and disadvantaged people and not for spreading linguistic and regional hatred against any nationality or segment of society.

Mr Hussain said it was tragic that the native people of Pakistan boasted that they had been living in the areas were Pakistan was formed even before the creation of Pakistan and hence they had the sole rights on this free country. The native people said that the migrants coming to Pakistan after partition could not be called the inheritors of the country.

Mr Hussain said that the MQM was started for the deprived people who had migrated to Pakistan but it was expended to give voice to the rights of the 98 per cent poor and oppressed people of the country.
