Process of cleansing unwanted elements from MQM begins: Altaf Hussain
 Posted on: 5/22/2013
Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain announced on Wednesday that the process of cleansing undesirable elements from the MQM had commenced and the same would continue till all the unwanted persons were purged from the party.
This was stated by the MQM chief while having telephonic conversation with members of the party’s Coordination Committee at the party’s headquarters `Nine Zero’, Azizabad.
On this occasion, Mr Hussain warned that as there is complete ban on the collection of donation in the party, any office-bearer or worker of the party was found guilty of collecting donation from anyone, including traders and pushcarts, would lose their basic membership of the party.
Mentioning that there was a zero tolerance policy of the MQM vis-à-vis `China cutting’, rehabilitation and occupation of houses, flats and shops, Mr Hussain said that there was no room in the party for all those indulging in such activities.
In this regard, Mr Hussain asked office-bearers and workers of the party to voluntarily resign from their posts as well as from the party’s membership if they were associated, whether directly or indirectly, with the business concerning sale and purchase of houses, flats and plots, otherwise basic membership of such people would be cancelled and expelled.
Elaborating, he said that although no one was allowed to remain engaged in contract business in the MQM, office-bearer or workers could remain associated with the profession after tendering their resignation from the post and membership of the party.
Declaring that the MQM was the party of the masses, Mr Hussain said that MQM was struggling hard for the basic rights of the people and, as such, there was no room in the party for those elements who become the cause of trouble for the people.
At the outset, Mr Hussain urged the party’s Coordination Committee members to leave no stone unturned in spreading the movement’s message, besides ensuring respect for the workers of the party.
