Fears expressed by Altaf Hussain have become very clear for everyone to see: Yousuf Raza Gillani
London: 9th May 2013
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain telephoned former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani and expressed his sympathies on the kidnapping of his son Ali Haider Gillani. He said that the election commission, and the caretaker government had made several promises for holding peaceful and transparent elections but apparently the entire country had become hostage to religious extremists. He said that the increasing incidents of terrorism clearly indicated the growing influence of terrorists in the country. He said that denying the reality would be equal to burying head in the sand. He extended full cooperation to Mr Gillani and said that the MQM was with him in this difficult time.
Mr Gillani said that the views of Mr Hussain were based on realities and also thanked him for expressing sympathies. He said that the reality had now dawned upon everyone, and the fears expressed by Mr Hussain had become clear for everyone to see. He said that all political forces that have been made the target of terrorism would have to unite for fighting terrorism.
