Pretoria (South Africa)
Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s South Africa Unit on Tuesday staged a demonstration in front of Pakistan High Commission to denounce terrorists’ attacks on liberal and enlightened parties in Pakistan.
The demonstrators comprising MQM (South Africa) Unit’s office-bearers, workers and sympathisers, were holding MQM flags, banners and placards inscribed with slogans such as `we condemn bomb blasts on MQM’s offices’ and `shame on terrorists for attacking Pakistan’s liberal parties and killing of innocent people’.
A large number of women, children and MQM workers belonging to Johannesburg also participated in the demonstration which continued for one-and-a-half hours.
The participants of the demonstration also raised full-throated slogans in favour of MQM chief Altaf Hussain and against the religious extremism and Talibanisation in Pakistan.
Pamphlets were distributed among locals of Pretoria, informing them about the bomb explosions occurring at the election offices of MQM and other liberal parties, killing of innocent people at the hands of terrorist elements and the conspiracy which is aimed at keeping the democratic and progressive parties away from election process and to bring in power Taliban’s supported parties.
Later, MQM’s office-bearers handed over a memorandum to Pakistan High Commission’s First Secretary, Mr Hassan.
