The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain cancelled the public meetings in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sialkot and Bhakkar on getting the news of the injuring of PTI chairman Imran Khan after he fell down from a lifter in Lahore. The MQM song “Sathi” was also not played on the instructions of Mr Hussain.
Mr Hussain said he was grieved to know about the injuring of Mr Khan. He said that Mr Khan is a national leader, and hence the people and Ulema should offer special prayer for his well-being and speedy recovery.
Talking to the audiences of the public meeting, Mr Hussain said it would not be possible for him to continue his address after getting the news about the tragic accident in which Mr Khan was seriously injured.
Mr Hussain said, “We may criticize each other during elections, but we should not give up civility and respect for others. We should criticize within the limits of courteousness and civility.”
Mr Hussain prayed Almighty Allah to keep Pakistan safe from disasters. He also prayed for the people belonging to the MQM, the ANP, the PPP and the JUI who lost their lives in bomb attacks.
“May Allah guide us to work for Pakistan and for the unity of the people of Pakistan!”
Mr Hussain paid tribute to the office-bearers and workers of the MQM for working day and night for the election meetings in Rawalpindi, Sialkot and Bhakkar.
