Five workers of MQM, including three brothers, who were killed in Thursdays bomb blast while they were busy in election activities near the Muttahida’s closed election office at Nusrat Bhutto Colony were laid to rest amid cries and a gloomy atmosphere at Sakhi Hassan graveyard.
Funeral prayers of the deceased workers offered at North Nazimabad’s Farooq-i-Azam mosque and the burial ceremony was largely attended by MQM’s Coordination Committee members Wasay Jalil, Javaid Kazmi, candidates nominated for National and provincial assemblies Rehan Hashmi, Sajid Quraishi, former MNA Shaikh Salahuddin, Karachi Organising Committee’s In-charge and members, North Nazimabad Sector and Unit committees’ office-bearers, workers and sympathizers and relatives of the deceased workers.
They prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Earlier, a gloomy atmosphere was witnessed when the bodies of the MQM workers, wrapped in MQM flags, were taken to the mosque for their funeral rites. MQM office-bearers present on the occasion comforted and consoled the relatives of the deceased.
Later, Quran Khawani was organized for the victims of Nusrat Bhutto Colony’s bomb blast and other martyrs of MQM.
