MQM delegation meets Chief Election Commissioner

The delegation informed the chief election commissioner about the serious reservations of the MQM regarding general elections
An MQM delegation led by Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar called on Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim. The delegation informed Mr Ebrahim about the serious reservations of the MQM regarding the general elections. The MQM delegation included members of the Co-ordination Committee Raza Haroon, Kunwar Naveed Jamil, and Tauseef Khanzada.
Dr Sattar apprised Mr Ebrahim about the killing of an MQM election candidate in Hyderabad, raids conducted by the law-enforcing agencies on MQM offices in peaceful areas, worsening law and order situation and the lack of security to the election candidates nominated by the MQM.
The delegation urged on the chief election commissioner to take serious notice of the worsening law and order situation, continuing wave of terrorism in Karachi, arrests of MQM workers and the lack of action against terrorist elements.
