Altaf Hussain Asks Rabta Committee to Interact with PTI Leaders and Make Sure that the Situation Remains Calm
Injustices being committed to the people of Karachi in the name of ongoing operation have caused immense frustration and anguish among people of Karachi

London - April 4, 2015
Mr. Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of MQM has expressed his regrets over the alleged ransacking of PTI's election camp in Karimabad, Karachi. He further said that injustices being committed to the people of Karachi in the name of ongoing operation have caused immense frustration and anguish among people of Karachi and their emotions are running high. He appealed to authorities to refrain from any action that might cause people of Karachi to lose their patience. Mr. Altaf Hussain said this while giving an interview to a private TV channel early Saturday morning.
Mr. Hussain added that MQM does not maintain an election camp in the area. However, relentless false allegations and inflammatory speeches made by the PTI leaders may have flared public sentiments and that may have led to this unfortunate incident.
Mr. Hussain stated that he categorically deplores and condemns this incident, as this is indeed unfortunate and deplorable in a democratic society and express sympathy with PTI.
"The growing anger and frustration in public is a serious matter and is an eye opener for those who are responsible for practising discriminatory policies, which is evident from the manner of raid on Nine Zero, widespread arrests and extra judicial murders of MQM workers.  Such cruel and degrading acts have angered the public tremendously", Mr Hussain further added.
He stated that as a result of such draconian practices, people nurture their anger and frustration while suffering and burying the bodies of their loved ones. However, there comes a time when the deep seated anger bursts out like a volcano and foments a revolution. In such a situation, people become oblivious to the power and strength of the perpetrators of atrocities. Be it the mighty armies of the Czar or any other tyrant.
Mr. Hussain stated that MQM is a liberal and moderate political party which believes in democratic norms and peaceful coexistence among all the political players in Pakistan. However, he categorically stated that none of the individuals involved in the subject act are workers of MQM which is a highly disciplined organization and does not allow its workers to indulge in hooliganism and irresponsible behaviour.
He further stated that whereas the act of destruction of PTI's camp was deplorable, however, it is a result of growing frustration which reflects the heightening of public anger over the biased practices and discriminatory policies of those who are trying to victimize and malign MQM and its leadership. These elements have been involved in creating a negative perception regarding MQM by consistently levelling false allegations against its leader and the party workers. For instance, following the murder of Ms. Zohra Shahid, Imran  Khan leader of PTI,  blamed me (Altaf Hussain) for her murder within minutes of the incident. This frivolous accusation was levelled without any basis and any credible evidence while ignoring the fact that I have been residing far away from Pakistan. Such type of vicious and malicious propaganda campaign, including, arrests and torture and all type of atrocities committed against workers of MQM in the garb of anti crime drive in Karachi in the recent past has generated considerable anger in the public of Karachi.
He appealed to the protestors to disperse peacefully and must exercise patience. Allah and his Prophet (PBUH) have called patience a great virtue and Allah support those who exercise patience. He appealed to MQM workers to refrain from aggressive behaviour as it might aggravate the prevailing tension. He further instructed the Rabta Committee to interact with PTI leaders and make sure that the situation remains calm and does not deteriorate any further.  اردو میں پڑھنے کے لیے
