The Election Commission should decide if it wants to held elections in the entire Pakistan or Punjab alone: Altaf Hussain

The Election Commission should decide if it wants to held elections in the entire Pakistan or Punjab alone: Altaf Hussain
 Posted on: 4/16/2013
If no solution is found of the prevailing crisis-like situation then Pakistan would be limited to Punjab only
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the bomb attack on the convoy of provincial head of PML (N) Balochistan Sardar Sanaullah Zehri. He expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow on the death of his son, brother and nephew in the blast and added that every patriotic Pakistani was grieved on the tragic incident.
Mr Hussain said that effective measures should have been taken for improving the law and order situation in the country and general elections should have been held afterwards. No purpose would be served by allowing the loss of lives in the name of elections and it would not be beneficial for the democracy either.
Mr Hussain said everyone knew that terrorists were openly threatening that they did not recognize elections and they would see to it that the elections were not held. He said that at present the election campaign was being run in the Punjab province only and it was becoming increasingly difficult to continue election campaign in other provinces. He said that the election commission would have to think if they wanted to hold elections in Punjab alone or the entire Pakistan.
Addressing the people at the helm of affairs, Mr Hussain said that they should desist from creating divisions in the remaining country. If a positive and meaningful solution was not found of the serious condition prevailing in the country, Pakistan would become limited to the Punjab alone and the other provinces would be forced to follow their own path according to their thinking.
Mr Hussain said he had been warning for the past five years about the activities of terrorists against national security and their repercussions but my concerns were not listened to. He said that the present acts of terrorism had given credence to his warnings and concerns.
Mr Hussain extended sympathies to the grieving family members and said that their grief was equally felt by him and all workers of the MQM. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
