MQM demands to pay increased pension to poor retirees

The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement demanded the federal government to pay increased pension to the poor labourers through Employees Old Age Benefit Institution (EOBI) according to the announcement.
In a statement, the Coordination Committee said that the federal government had already increased pension amount from 3600 to 6000 rupees but the poor pensioners were not being paid the increased pension according to the announcement. It said that the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar increased pension’s amount in federal budget which was later approved in EOBI’s Governing Bodies’ meeting.
The Committee said that the poor labourers suffered in desperation and agony for being paid the suggested amount of the pension. It demanded the federal and provincial governments to pay the announced amount of 6000 to the pensioners along with their unpaid dues.
