MQM responds to terror attack which left more than 50 worshipers dead in Shikarpur Mosque, Pakistan

The leader of one of Pakistan’s largest political parties, MQM today condemned the attack which left more than 50 worshipers dead in Sindh province, Pakistan.
In response to the attack, MQM’s leader, Mr. Hussain said “I strongly condemn this needless attack on innocent worshipers. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families .The Government of Pakistan must take decisive action against these terrorists that plague our country.”
At least 53 people were killed and more than 70 others were injured in what the police suspect to be a suicide attack. According to the police, the attack happened during Friday prayers.
MQM has been vocal in its criticism against rising religious extremism in Pakistan and believes that terrorism and sectarianism are symptoms of  the real problem which needs to be addressed from a grassroots level.
Mr Altaf Hussain is the first and so far the only Pakistani statesman to speak against the rising threat of IS in Pakistan and was the first leader to highlight the spread of the Taliban n Pakistan almost a decade ago.
