In a joint statement, members of the Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Saleem Shahzad, Tariq Jawed, Syed Qasim Ali Raza and Muhammad Ashfaq have urged leaders of all political and religious parties, including the PML (N) to award party tickets to their workers instead of their family members, friends, feudal lords and moneyed people. They said that workers are the backbone of any political party who give sacrifices and face hardships.
The members of the Co-ordination Committee said it was unfortunate that political parties ignore their time-tested workers. They said that parties should recognize the services rendered by their loyal workers and not ignore them at the time of general elections.
