The MQM would continue to serve the people if it gets a chance instead of indulging in corruption
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the days of contesting elections on the basis of wealth and the feudal system were numbered. He warned that no one would be able to resist the revolution of the poor and middle-class people in the country. He was talking to the office-bearers and workers of the MQM Upper Punjab in Rawalpindi.
Mr Hussain said that the MQM was the only political party whose candidates had submitted nomination forms in overwhelming majority while feudal lords and moneyed people who had accumulated ill-gotten wealth were slinking away from taking part in elections. He said that the numbers of nomination forms submitted by the MQM clearly indicated that there was no dearth of educated and honest people in the MQM. He declared that the poor and middle-class candidates contest elections on the MQM ticket across the length and breadth of the country.
Mr Hussain said that wrangling over tickets was not uncommon in other political parties while there was no such thing in the MQM. He said that the MQM wanted to solve the basic problems of the people of Pakistan and if it got an opportunity it would continue to serve the people instead of indulging in corruption.
He said that the revolutionary message of the MQM was fast becoming the heartthrob of the people of Pakistan. He said that educated and honest people from Punjab would contest elections against feudal lords like Sindh. He hoped that the people of Pakistan would uproot the feudal system and culture of dynastic politics by voting for the MQM candidates.
Mr Hussain said that the MQM is a political party with strong ideological moorings and it had not acquired its position overnight. It is because of the selfless sacrifices of the sincere and loyal workers that the MQM could not be finished. The MQM survived in spite of hardships and countless injustices.
He urged the workers to remain united and not get disillusioned and disappointed by the force of circumstances. He said that ultimately they would be victorious. He praised them for making tireless efforts for submission of the nomination forms.
