Nations that do not respect their freedom fade into oblivion: Altaf Hussain

Message on the occasion of Pakistan Resolution Day
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that nations that do not value their freedom lose their standing with the passage of time. In a message on the occasion of Pakistan Resolution Day, Mr Hussain said that freedom is a blessing and nations that do not respect their freedom fade into oblivion.
Mr Hussain said that the foundation of a separate country for the Muslims of the subcontinent was laid on 23rd March 1940. Although the Pakistan came into being after a historic struggle of the Muslims of the subcontinent, but the people could not be freed from the clutches of feudal lords. Inequitable distribution of resources and the archaic feudal system resulted in the splitting of the country and the existence of the remaining Pakistan is also threatened due to similar circumstances.
Mr Hussain said that the nation would not progress unless autonomy is given to the provinces. He said it was necessary to empower the provinces by giving complete autonomy according to the true spirit of the resolution of 23rd March.
He said it was necessary to promote the environment of unity and solidarity in order to check the tide of sectarianism and extremism. He said that the MQM wanted to change Pakistan according to the vision of the Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Muhammad Iqbal in order for ending the culture of dynastic politics and empowering the common people.
