MQM Co-ordination Committee condemns illegal raid on the house of Nawai Waqt Resident Editor

MQM Co-ordination Committee has condemned the illegal raid at the house of Resident Editor of Nawai Waqt Karachi Saeed Khawar. The committee said that the illegal raid at the house of a journalist and law-abiding citizen has once again exposed the stark reality of the ongoing Karachi operation.
The Co-ordination Committee said innocent citizens are harassed and arrested by Rangers, police and other law-enforcing agencies during on the pretext of targeted operation. Legal, constitutional and human rights of common people were being violated by carrying out large-scale and arbitrary arrests without any proof or basis.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the fate of ordinary people could be well imagined if a senior journalist like Mr Khawar was not safe from illegal action.
The Co-ordination Committee demanded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to order an inquiry into the illegal raid at the house of Mr Khawar. It said that the harassment and excesses committed in the name of Karachi Operation should end.
