MQM (USA) condemns Badami Bagh incident
 Posted on: 3/11/2013
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (US) has strongly condemned the attack and torching of the houses of Christians in Lahore’s Badami Bagh.
In a joint statement, the MQM (US) Central Organizer, Junaid Fehmi, Joint Central Organizers Mohammad Arshad Hussain and Nadeem Siddiqui as well as members of Central Organising Committee Tauseef Khan, Wasim Zaidi, Saqib Mohyuddin, Wakeel Jamali, Mohammad Zaheer, Ali Hassan, Aamir Qazi, Gul Mohammad  and Asad Siddiqui, said that the act of attacking and putting houses of Christians on fire in Badami Bagh amounted to an attack on the Ideology of Pakistan, thereby  jolting the foundation of the country.
They said that in the Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan where religious minorities were promised equal rights and protection, their places of worships and localities have been hijacked by few religious extremists
They said that the Badami Bagh carnage had proved that religious extremists and terrorists groups are, not only nurturing under the patronage of Punjab government, but are also using Punjab for carrying out their acts of barbarism in the entire country.
Expressing their solidarity with the Christians living in Pakistan, they assured them that MQM stood with them in their trying period and would not rest till they are provided with justice.
The MQM (US) demanded of Punjab government to immediately stop supporting defunct extremist groups, besides tendering resignation over its failure in preventing the Badami Bagh incident.
