The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the explosion inside a mosque in Peshawar. He expressed his grief and sorrow on the killing and wounding of several persons as a result of the blast. He said that the elements that were spilling the blood of innocent people had created a general atmosphere of barbarism and savagery in the country. In the present circumstances, the life and property of the people had become unsafe.
Mr Hussain said it was necessary to evolve a national consensus in order to combat terrorism effectively, and the people would have to join hands with the government and the army for uprooting terrorism from Pakistan.
Mr Hussain extended sympathies to the grieving family members prayed for the people who lost their lives. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Mr Hussain demanded President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Interior Minister Rehman Malik to take serious notice of the explosion inside the mosque in Peshawar. He called for steps to provide the sense of security to the people.
