Karachi: 9th February 2012
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain has announced a grand women public meeting in Karachi on 19th February in Bag-I-Jinnah in Karachi. He has said that the women public meeting will break all past records and make a new history in the politics of the country.

He made this announcement. Mr Hussain said that women have played a brave role in the struggle of the MQM since 1978. When the difficult times came during struggle of the movement spanning over a period of 35 years and mere affiliation with the MQM was made a grave crime, the women came forward and uplifted the flag of the MQM. They opened Nine Zero and worked courageously.

They were trampled upon by the horses, subjected to ill-treatment in the jails but they did not lose hope and carried the mission and objective of the movement forward. Mr Hussain paid glowing tributes to the women for their relentless struggle and said that they would once again make a history by organizing a grand public meeting in Bagh-i-Jinnah on the 19th February. He appealed to the women belonging to different spheres of life and social spectrum to rise above the distinctions of religion and nationalities in order to demonstrate that they were one.

Mr Hussain asked the Women Wing of the MQM and female students of the APMSO to start preparations for the public meeting in full gear. He also directed all the zones, sectors and office-bearers of provincial committees to get ready for the women public meeting.
