It is necessary for peace and stability in Sindh that Governor Ebad continues in the office: Message from President Zardari and other government personalities
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has advised Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad to take back his resignation and resume his responsibilities for peace and stability in Sindh and for promoting harmony among various segments of the society. He asked him to serve the people with full honesty as had been doing in the past. He said this while talking to Governor Ebad on the telephone on Wednesday.
Governor Ebad had sent his resignation to President Asif Zardari after political differences developed between the PPP and MQM and the MQM decided to sit on the opposition benches. Governor Ebad had later on proceeded to Dubai because of his ailment.
Mr Hussain told Governor Ebad that although he had tendered his resignation voluntarily but there was a persistent demand from members of the business community, religious scholars, and people belonging to different spheres of life that he should be asked to take his resignation back.
He further told Governor Ebad that Interior Minister Rehman Malik had conveyed to him the messages from President Zardari and other government personalities that even though the MQM was free in its political decisions, yet Governor Ebad should be asked to continue in the largest interest of Sindh and Pakistan.
Mr Hussain asked Governor Ebad to reconsider his decision in the light of the requests made by business community, industrialists, religious scholars, and people belonging to different other spheres of life. He asked him to resume his responsibilities for peace and stability in Sindh.
