Dr Ebad enjoys full confidence and support of Mr Altaf Hussain and the entire leadership of the MQM
Karachi: 26th February 2013
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has termed the analysis on a private TV channel about serious differences between the MQM leadership and Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan over the latter’s resignation. It termed the analysis as baseless, highly speculative and misleading. It said that certain elements were trying to create misconceptions in the minds of the MQM workers over its political differences with the PPP. These elements were trying to propagate that MQM leader Mr Altaf Hussain no longer wanted Dr Ishratul Ebad to hold the office of Governor Sindh under any condition.
The Co-ordination Committee said that such malicious analyses were part of a disinformation campaign against the MQM having nothing to do with reality. This was being done to create restiveness in the rank and file of the MQM and confusion in the minds of the people.
The Co-ordination Committee said, in no uncertain terms, that Dr Ishratul Ebad enjoyed full confidence of Mr Hussain. The news that Mr Hussain wanted to remove Dr Ebad from his office was totally unfounded.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the MQM is a democratic political party in which all political decisions are taken collectively after threadbare discussions. As far as the resignation of Dr Ebad was concerned, it was a decision based upon the call of his own conscience.
The Co-ordination Committee asked MQM workers and the general public not to give ears to rumours.
