MQM MNA Waseem Akhtar has said that the act of pressuring the Election Commission and creating hindrances in its working by the Leader of the Opposition Chaudhry Nisar Ali was unfortunate. He said that Chaudhry Nisar had led a march from the parliament house to the office of the Election Commission a few days ago and had said that the purpose of the march was to strengthen the commission. Strangely Chaudhry Nisar was criticizing the commission for initiating the process of verification of degrees of the members of the parliament. He said that instead of trying to influence the commission, Chaudhry Nisar should express confidence on it and extend his co-operation.
