Funeral held in Asghar Ali Shah Stadium in North Nazimabad
Former provincial minister, member of the Sindh Assembly and distinguished orthopaedic surgeon was laid to rest in Paposhnagar graveyard amid sobs and tears. The funeral prayer was held in the Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium, and the funeral prayer was led by prominent religious scholar Maulana Ahtaramul Haque Thanvi.
Deputy Conveners of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM Dr Farooq Sattar, Dr Nusrat Shoukat, other members of the committee, MNAs, MPAs, and office-bearers of various wings of the MQM attended the funeral.
PPP leaders Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi, Najmi Alam, ANP leader Amir Nawab, PML (F) leader Imtiaz Shaikh and well-known social and human rights activist Ansar Burney also attended the funeral.
Sports personalities who attended the funeral included Jawed Miandad, Waseem Bari, Shahid Afridi, Rashid Latif and former hockey captain Islahuddin were also present to pay their last respects to late Dr Shah who was a great sports personality in his own right.
A large number of other people also attended the funeral. The Soyem will be held on Saturday, 9th February at the residence of Dr Shah.
