Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik visited the International Secretariat of the MQM in London and met members of the Co-ordination Committee. Mr Malik inquired after the well-being of Mr Altaf Hussain on behalf of President Asif Zardari and prayed for his health. He praised the role of Mr Hussain in the completion of the five years of the democratic government and paid tribute to his statesmanship.
Mr Malik also talked on the points raised by the Co-ordination Committee the other day. Members of the Co-ordination Committee expressed their serious reservations on creating hurdles by certain prejudiced elements in the way of solutions of public issues highlighted by the MQM.
Mr Malik said that a joint meeting of the core committees of the MQM and the PPP would be convened soon in order to find solutions of all pending issues relating to general public welfare. He said that President Asif Zardari would play his effective role to work out issues.
Members of the Co-ordination Committee also informed Mr Malik about the restlessness prevailing among the people due to incidents of terrorism in Karachi and the killings of innocent people.
