Protection should be given to the business community and the general public at all costs
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has demanded of the government to bring the killers of the former president of the Karachi Electronic Dealers Association to justice. Expressing grief and sorrow on the passing away of Muhammad Irfan, who was critically wounded in a murderous attack, the committee called for urgent steps to give protection to the business community.
The Co-ordination Committee regretted that no solid steps were taken to protect the business community and common people from extortionists, hardened criminals and terrorists who were roaming in the city with impunity and striking at their will. It said that the elected representatives and workers of the MQM, workers of other political and religious parties and member of the business community were being gunned down that had created a pervading sense of insecurity among the citizens of Karachi.
The Co-ordination Committee demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take serious notice of the brutal killing of Muhammad Irfan. It said that the protection of business community and the general public should be ensured at all costs.
