Prayer meeting and candlelight vigil held to pay homage to martyred MPA Manzar Imam

Delegations of PPP, PTI, ANP, MQI and other political parties attended the prayer meeting and offered condolences
Prayer meetings were held on Sunday at the MQM offices throughout the country to pay homage to the martyred MQM MPA Syed Manzar Imam, his driver and two security guards. The main gathering was held at Nine Zero where a candlelight vigil was observed and floral wreathes were laid for the martyrs. Prayers were offered for the departed souls and for courage and patience for the grieving families to bear the tragedy.
Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar, Anis Qaimkhani, Dr Nusrat Shoukat, other members of the committee, MQM leader Amir Khan, Senators, MNAs, MPAs were present on the occasion.

Delegation of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Pakistan People’s Party, and Awami National Party and Tehreek-i-Minhaj-ul-Quran also attended the prayer meeting and offered condolences on behalf of their party on the brutal killing  of MPA Manzar Imam.

President of Karachi Chambers of Commerce, office-bearers of the Arts Council, office-bearers of MQM USA, workers of different sectors and units and family members of the martyrs also attended the prayer meeting and the vigil in large numbers.

The ANP delegation condemned the brutal killing of MPA Manzar Imam and offered condolences to Mr Altaf Hussain and the MQM. The delegation called it a blatant act of terrorism. They said that the ANP and the MQM would have to fight against terrorism by joining hands so that the city and country could be freed from the grip of extremism and terrorism.

The PPP delegation said that both the PPP and the MQM have been facing terrorism. The said that they wanted to take positive steps for eliminating terrorism from the country for which all political parties would have to sit together. They offered condolences on behalf of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and the entire leadership of the PPP.
