Leaders of different political parties and people belonging to different spheres of life attended the funeral
Funeral of the MQM MPA who was assassinated by armed terrorists at the Nishan-i-Haider Chowk area in Orangi Town was held today in Jinnah Ground. He was laid to rest in Shuhada Qabristan in Azizabad. The driver and security guards shot dead by the firing of the terrorists were buried in three other graveyards in Orangi Town.
Deputy Conveners of the Co-ordination Committee Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, Dr Nusrat Shoukat, other members of the committee, Senators, MNAs, MPAs, office-bearers of various wings and sector and thousands of MQM workers attended the funeral.
Leaders of PPP Karachi Najmi Alam, Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi, Abid Satti and Munir Khattak, ANP leaders Bashir Jan, Amir Nawab, Rana Gul Afridi, PDP leader Basharat Mirza, PML (N) leader Nehal Hashmi, Matoloob Awan Qadri of Sunni Tehreek and Usman Yar Khan of JUI (F) were also present in the funeral of Manzar Imam.
The funeral prayer was led by Hafiz Saquib Imam, nephew of Manzar Imam. Earlier the dead bodies were brought to Nine Zero where the widows of the deceased MPA, his driver and security guards, their children, parents, brothers, sisters and other family members were present.
Touching scenes were witnessed at Nine Zero when the dead bodies were taken to Jinnah Ground for offering the funeral prayer. Mourners were wearing black arm bands. Manzar Imam was laid to rest in the Shuhada Qabristan amid sobs and tear.
