The MQM has lost a senior worker who was dedicated to his work and popular among the people of constituency
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has announced three days of mourning on the martyrdom of MPA Manzar Imam and his guards. It appealed to the party workers and sympathizers to remain peaceful and wear black arm bands to mourn the death of the martyrs.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the assassination of Manzar Imam was a great tragedy for the MQM. It said that the MQM has lost a senior worker who was highly dedicated to his work and popular among the people of his constituency. It said that earlier MQM MPA Raza Haider was also gunned down, but his killers were not arrested. Incidents of sectarian killings have been occurring continually in the city which has placed a big question mark on the performance of the law-enforcing agencies.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the MQM has been advising its workers and sympathizers to bear with patience for the sake of the peace of the city. It said that the terrorist elements cannot diminish the courage and resolve of the MQM even with the force of their terrorism. The MQM would continue its struggle under the leadership of the MQM.
The Co-ordination Committee demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and others at the helm of affairs to take serious notice of the killing of MPA Manzar Imam and his guards. It called for a high level inquiry into the incident and said that the killers must be brought to justice.
