Varsities formation celebrations
The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM), Mr. Altaf Hussain said that education was the jewel of a nation and developed nations were fully aware of modern use of education.
Talking on the occasion of ‘Ehtemam Haleem’ at Lal Qila ground Azizabad to celebrate the announcement of formations of two new universities in Karachi and Hyderabad respectively, MQM Chief said that since the inception of the country people were being deprived of their rights and similarly, hurdles to build a university in Hyderabad as people wished, were the continuation of that discriminated attitude.
He said that if a nation had a good leadership and chivalrous army Generals like Mustafa Kamal Atta Turk, who single-handedly rectified the entire society which was polluted by corruption, nepotism and discrimination. He said that he needed the leader like Mao ZeTung, who translated his leadership to make his nation one of the richest among most.
Mr. Hussain said that any opposing statement against education in civilized society, might cause unsettling the government but not a single protest came from any side of the society, including authority concerned, civil society and so-called intellectual elite, against the statement of former education minister Pir Mazharul Haq. He said that poor and laborer Sindhis should vote for MQM then it would make school and colleges in every Goth and village, and no feudal lord dared to make those schools and colleges their parlours.
He said that university would be built in Hyderabad soon and city youth could get higher education without any fear. He said that all the ethnic, racial, regional and religious discrimination would be eliminated if education would have been spread throughout the country. He said that people could not protest against the government because of the fear of their cruelty and in such situation army should come forward to help out their countrymen.
Mr. Hussain said that he would knock down any hurdle against the spreading education in the country, especially in Sindh. He said that he would amend in the constitution and secondary education would be compulsory for every child and the parents, who did not send their children to work despite sending them to school, would be comprehended through law.
He said that the government would be responsible to provide free basic secondary education to all the children. He said that he would also eliminate the dual education system from the country and a unanimous education system would be introduced for all because only education could bring change in the country and it was the only key to success.
Talking about the former president General Pervez Musharraf, he said that his era was good for the country but he was removed through a conspiracy. He said that it was unfortunate but fact that only dictators or army rulers conducted local government election to empower common people but no democratic government bothered to follow the rule appropriately.
