Discusses situation emerging out of the demands announced by Dr Tahirul Qadri
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain telephoned Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf early in the morning today and exchanged views on the emerging situation after the demands announced by Dr Tahirul Qadri. He told the prime minister that the country cannot afford confrontation and collision because of the internal and external threats encircling the country.
Mr Hussain said that Dr Qadri should display patience and adopt the path of dialogues for arriving at solutions of his demands. He said that the government should also refrain from using force and should engage in meaningful dialogues without wasting time.
PM Ashraf concurred with Mr Hussain and said that the government was ready for dialogues. He said that the government was showing restraint and wanted to resolve issues with mutual understanding. He said that everything should be done according to law and under the guidelines given in the constitution.
PM Ashraf said that the country was passing through a critical phase and could ill-afford disputes and confrontation.
Mr Hussain praised the prime minister for tackling the situation emerging out of the Quetta tragedy amicably. He stressed on the need to stop the killing of the Hazara community and take iron-fisted action against the brutal killers.
Prime Minister Ashraf assured Mr Hussain that effective actions would be taken to improve the situation in Balochistan.
