Legitimate demands of Dr Tahirul Qadri should also be accepted as unnecessary delays would compound problems
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has shown political wisdom by giving assurance to the mourners of the Quetta tragedy that their demands regarding removal of the Chief Minister of Balochistan and imposition of the governor’s rule in the province would be accepted. He said that the mourners would not have held the sit-in with the dead bodies of their loved-ones in extreme weather conditions if the government had accepted their demands earlier. He said that the inordinate delay in the acceptance of the demands of the mourners has led to similar protests in different parts of the country.
Mr Hussain demanded the federal government, particularly the prime minister to accept the legitimate demands of Dr Tahirul Qadri as well without creating hindrances in the way of the long march. He said that it was necessary for the survival of democracy in the country. He told the prime minister that unnecessary delays in the acceptance of legitimate demands of Dr Qadri as shown in meeting the demands of the mourners of the Quetta tragedy would only compound problems lest the long march should also become a countrywide protest.
