Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi telephoned Mr Altaf Hussain and offered condolences on the killing and wounding of the MQM workers and sympathizers in a bomb blast near Ayesha Manzil after the MQM public meeting in Jinnah Ground. Hafiz Ashrafi is in Makkah to perform Umrah. He expressed his grief and sorrow and said that all the Ulema of the Council and students were with the MQM on this tragedy.
Hafiz Ashrafi said, “Allah says in the Holy Quran that the murder of a person is the same as murdering the entire humanity. Those who are shedding the blood of innocent people under the name of Islam are murdering the humanity.”
He said that the elements holding the MQM responsible for the law and order situation in Karachi should also tell as to who is killing the MQM workers and sympathizers. He asked who was destroying peace by carrying out bomb explosions in Karachi.
Mr Hussain thanked Hafiz Ashrafi and asked him to pray Allah in the Holy Kaaba to make Pakistan free of the scourge of terrorism.
