Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) observed a day of mourning throughout the country today on the martyrdom of four MQM sympathizers and wounding of several others in a bomb blast at Ayesha Manzil. Gatherings for offering fateha and recitations of the Holy Quran were held at the party offices across the country.
The main gathering was held in Lal Qila Ground, Azizabad in Karachi. Deputy Conveners of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Farooq Sattar, Anis Ahmed Qaimkhani, Dr Nusrat Shoukat and other members of the committee were present on the occasion. Thousands of MQM workers, office-bearers and relatives of the deceased sympathizers attended the gathering in the Lal Qila Ground.
After the recitation of the Holy Quran, Maulana Jameel Rathore offered prayers for the divine blessings of the souls of the martyred. Prayers were also offered for the success of the long march in Islamabad on 14th January. Special prayers were offered for the good health and long life of Mr Hussain.
Similar gatherings were also held in different parts of the country at the offices of the MQM.
