We announce full support for eliminating terrorism from the country: Allama Tahir Ashrafi
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the armed forces and religious and political parties should get united on a single point and wage a decisive battle to rid Pakistan of the scourge of terrorism. He said this while talking to Allama Tahir Ashrafi and members of his delegations on the telephone during their visit to Nine Zero. Members of the Co-ordination Committee and MQM ministers were also present on the occasion.
Mr Hussain welcomed the delegation at Nine Zero and said, “We are always making efforts to save Pakistan from worldly threats. It is the prime responsibility of the people of Pakistan to make practical efforts for pulling their country out of difficulties besides praying. It is the need of the hour that all political and religious parties realize the gravity of the situation and get united against terrorism, violence and bloodshed.”
Mr Hussain said, “The armed forces have given immense sacrifices for protecting the country in the past. It is time the entire nation gets firmly united for saving the country.”
“We want the oppressive system to end usher a just and equitable system in the country. We must acquire knowledge about our religion also besides equipping ourselves with modern scientific knowledge. We should find out the role played by Ulema and about their conduct in daily life.When we try to compare our rulers with the simple way of life of the Pious Caliphs, our heads come down in shame.”
Mr Hussain told the delegation that he did not have any property in Pakistan and the adjoining areas of the Nine Zero. “The MQM has been contesting elections since 1987,and it has been a part of several governments in the past. Its members were elected mayor, deputy mayor, MNAs, MPAs and Senators but I did not use my party for personal gains. Allah has kept me saved from dishonesty and venal practices.”
Allama Tahir Ashrafi agreed with the views of Mr Hussain and assured complete support for eradicating terrorism from the country. He hailed the statement of Mr Hussain regarding the establishing of the system of Pious Caliphs in the country and said that this statement reflected the innermost sentiments of the people of Pakistan as they want justice and equity in the country.
Allama Ashrafi said that massive propaganda was done against the MQM by certain elements, but its positive style of politics and practical steps has helped greatly in diluting the propaganda. “The MQM has won the hearts of Ulema and students by the forceful stance against the targeting of students and Ulema.”
He thanked Mr Hussain for a warm welcome at Nine Zero.
