Offers condolences on the martyrdom of senior ANP leader Bashir Bilour
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain telephoned the head of Awami National Party (ANP) Mr Asfandyar Wali and offered condolences on the martyrdom of the senior ANP leader Bashir Ahmed Bilour. He prayed Almighty Allah to shower His blessings on the souls of all the people killed in the suicide attack. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
Talking to the ANP leader Mr Hussain said, “These people have given their lives for saving the public from the scourge of extremism and their sacrifices should not go in vain. Time has come to wage a decisive battle against the terrorists with the help of the armed forces of Pakistan.”
Mr Hussain said that the terrorists have accepted the responsibility for the attack. They had earlier warned that anyone who would obstruct their path would be eliminated and that the ANP and the MQM are on their target. Hence it is necessary for both the ANP and the MQM to sit together and take unanimous decisions in the larger national interests.
Mr Hussain said, “We are brothers of each other but our enemies are plotting to set us against each other. We have to fight against our common enemy instead of fighting with each other.”
Speaking on the occasion Mr Wali told Mr Hussain that he valued his sentiments and said that he would convey these sentiments to the families of the martyrs. He said, “You have shared our grief in this difficult time which has given us strength. I fully agree with you that the entire Pakistani nation, the armed forces, the MQM, and the ANP must sit together for defeating terrorism.”
Mr Wali demanded of President Asif Zardari to devise an effective strategy for eliminating terrorism.
Mr Hussain said that martyrdom of Bashir Ahmed Bilour and others is a great tragedy and the MQM workers share the grief equally. He prayed Almighty Allah to give courage and patience to the grieving families and rest the departed souls in eternal peace.
